Monday May, 11: I received an invitation to an award ceremony; I was given an award by my journalism teacher, Mrs. Thedford. I was shocked to say the least, it made me feel good and appreciated. I know I’ve been writing for the school newspaper, but it just made me feel all giddy and whatnot. I just want to take a moment and thank her; she helped me discover that I honestly want to be a journalist when I grow older. She’s one of the teachers I look up to most, if she ever does happen to read this post. I just want you to know I appreciate everything you’ve done for me, every article I was given the opportunity to write was an experience all on their own. I grew as I wrote this year; it’s one of my passions. I hope that when individuals read my poems, articles and just short stories, they feel inspired; inspired to do what makes them happy be it band, choir, art or being valedictorian. Strive to be who you are, no one can tell you how to be happy. If you are a believer in Christ whether it be Baptist, Catholic, LDS, etc. no one can tell you what your relationship with the Lord is. Again, I’d like to take a moment and thank Mrs. Thedford; thank you for encouraging me to keep going and editing all of my articles. You’re one of a kind, and truly incredible; thank you for everything you do.
