When stars align they are no match,
nothing shines brighter
than the beauty you hold.
Every other morning you wake up,
navigating through the mass of toys that lay on the livingroom floor
searching for your workout clothes.
Even then with your hair fixed up into braid or ponytail,
I can still see what lies within
the one my dad fell in love with.
Everyday brings something new,
like Forrest Gump says “Life is like a box of chocolates”
because for a fact you never know what you’re going to get in that day to come.
As the years go by the bond grows stronger,
and when we are all gone and separated
coming back each holiday to bring forth memories that can’t be forgotten.
One by one we leave the nest,
not forgetting what we’ve been taught
taking our experiences and growing wiser.
But we come back to you,
share the love and the brightness
of what was once a Mother’s love.
Nothing can shine brighter than you alone,
people are cruel but you are strong
appreciation for the love that helped us along.
A role model for the eye to see,
you belong with this family
no matter how crazy we get.
You always find a way to hold us together like glue,
an unbreakable bond
but what matters most is that you never stop loving us.
I love you! Thank you for writing me this sweet poem.
Great work!
